Abstract: This paper provides a comprehensive review of research on artificial intelligence (AI) product and service systems. With the rapid advancement of AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision, the design, development, and deployment of AI-enabled products and services have become a central concern across academia and industry. The review begins by delineating the conceptual boundaries of AI products and service systems, emphasizing the integration of intelligent capabilities into tangible products and intangible services. It then examines the key dimensions of AI product and service system research, including user-centered design, human-AI interaction, service architecture, value co-creation, and ecosystem development. The paper further discusses methodological approaches adopted in the field, ranging from design science and empirical studies to case-based analysis. Major challenges are identified, such as addressing user trust, ensuring fairness and transparency, managing data privacy, and aligning AI capabilities with user needs. Finally, the paper outlines future research directions, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, adaptive service systems, and sustainable AI-driven value networks. The review aims to provide a structured reference for researchers and practitioners engaged in the design and innovation of AI products and service systems.
